Think of police gear and the first things that spring to mind are likely to be handcuffs or restraints and a sidearm or firearm. There is however, a vast range of police gear designed with specific purposes in mind. There are duty belts and vests, which enable the police to carry all the gear they need for their day-to-day duties. You would be surprised at some of the items that you might find amongst a police gear. Obviously, some more specialist items are available, but what of the ordinary officer on the street, what do they need with them to assist them in their duties.
There is the very basic form of equipment such as a pen or pencil to very specialist gear, which assists in surveillance such as night vision goggles, and infrared tactical lasers, which help, pinpoint a criminal or other target. You may think that laser sights and night vision is a touch James Bond but they do have a very important role to play in some situations. Technological police gear plays an important part in protecting officers in dangerous situations, and it gives them the edge over those intent on harm to others.
